Proportion and Grid

OK, here is the story: I'm working on a set of designs including letterhead, envelope, folder, company profile for a client. As usual, after I got the sizes for each item, I started placing all elements (logo, slogan, and other visual and textual things) on the layout and played around with them until I feel fine. Then, I sent the first drafts to my client, waiting for their feedback!

He, the client, then said that it seemed that all of my designs failed in standard proportions!

I went a little upset and frustrated. PROPORTION??? Who cares about proportion! when every elements are laid out "beautifully"???

But when I calmed down and I did a search for that term.
